Job summary

Windward Risk Managers in Boca Raton, FL, seeks a senior leader to drive the development of a new commercial residential property insurance product line for Florida. You will oversee underwriting, product development, and market risk modeling while guiding cross-functional teams.

The role requires a proven track record, 15+ years in underwriting/product development in property insurance and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field (or equivalent).
• Minimum 15 years underwriting, product development or related experience in property insurance, with 10+ years in Florida Commercial Residential policies.
• 5+ years' proven leadership/management experience.
• CPCU certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a commercial residential program aligned with risk appetite and goals to accelerate growth.
• Create a detailed business plan for Florida market opportunities, including risks and underwriting requirements.
• Develop underwriting activities and processes for commercial residential risk.
• Partner with risk management to develop guidelines, forms, and procedures on risk exposure and applications.
• Collaborate with organizational leaders to meet program goals and objectives.
• Monitor performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities for improvement.

This senior-level management role will drive the development of a new commercial residential property insurance product line in Florida. The position requires a collaborative leader with deep expertise in product development, underwriting, and market risk modeling and analysis.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and implement a commercial residential program aligned with the organization’s risk appetite, goals, and objectives to accelerate business growth.
• Create a detailed business plan that aligns to the commercial residential opportunities in the Florida market including opportunities, risk parameters, and underwriting requirements.
• Utilize expertise to develop commercial residential underwriting activities and processes to address all aspects of potential risk.
• Partner with the risk management team to develop guidelines, forms, and procedures regarding risk exposure, application requirements, and other related activities.
• Collaborate and coordinate with leaders across the organization to meet the goals and objectives of the program.
• Monitor performance, analyze data, and identify trends and opportunities for improvement of the program.
• Assist in setting financial targets, budget development and monitoring.

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 15 years underwriting, product development or related experience in the property insurance industry, with at least 10 years focused on Florida Commercial Residential policies.
• 5+ years' proven leadership/management experience required.
• CPCU certification preferred.

• Significant understanding of insurance software programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
• Deep understanding of business operations, procedures, and priorities with a strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
• Proficient in MSO/365 applications including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
