Commercial Refrigeration Technician Serving Hannaford Brand Stores Trainee

Join us as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician Serving Hannaford Brand Stores Trainee at Ahold Delhaize USA.

This role involves working closely with experienced technicians and supervisors to develop skills in preventive maintenance and repair of HVAC, ice machines, and refrigeration systems across stores. Responsibilities include completing work orders, data entry in the maintenance system, and responding to after-hours calls with guidance.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in completing work orders under supervision
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
• Maintain records for maintenance checklists
• Perform general maintenance including refrigeration, air conditioning, and electrical tasks
• Process refrigerant use in compliance with EPA guidelines (EPA certification required)
• Provide routine maintenance on racks, cases, and alarm systems
• Update control settings for refrigeration and EMS controls
• Repair leaks, evaporators, coolers, freezers, and air conditioners
• Handle electrical wiring and troubleshooting
• Analyze mechanical operation of refrigeration and HVAC units
• Order repair parts as needed
• Complete repairs on refrigeration and HVAC units, including doors, gaskets, and drains
• Respond to work requests and emergency calls
• Perform additional duties as needed to support business needs

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing systems
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• EPA Certification (Universal) or ability to obtain within 3 months
• Ability to obtain state licensures if required
• Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. (assist with 100 lbs.)
• Availability for after-hours emergency calls
• Excellent computer and communication skills
• Ability to travel daily within the assigned region

Salary Range: $23.56 - $35.37 per hour.
