Responsibilities

• Service walk-in and reach-in coolers and freezers, ice machines, refrigerated cases, and related systems.
• Troubleshoot compressors, evaporators, condensers, controls, electrical components, refrigerant circuits, and defrost systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential failures before downtime.
• Recover, evacuate, charge, and document refrigerants per EPA requirements.
• Document work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.

Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Full-Time – Office in West Babylon, NY – Service Territory Greater NY Area
Monday–Friday

On-Call Rotation

Air Comfort Service Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our growing service team. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in diagnosing problems accurately, completing quality repairs, and providing exceptional customer service.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment
• Service walk-in and reach-in coolers and freezers, ice machines, refrigerated cases, and related systems
• Troubleshoot compressors, evaporators, condensers, controls, electrical components, refrigerant circuits, and defrost systems
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential failures before they result in downtime
• Recover, evacuate, charge, and document refrigerants in accordance with EPA requirements
• Clearly document work performed, parts used, equipment condition, and recommendations
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, supervisors, and other technicians
• Participate in the department’s on-call rotation
• Follow all company and customer safety procedures

What You Bring

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial refrigeration experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required
• Experience with low- and medium-temperature refrigeration systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift equipment and materials and work from ladders or in confined spaces
• Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
