Larson Maddox is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Counsel to join its legal team in New York, NY, or Chicago, IL. The role supports CRE finance, securitization, and capital markets initiatives, advising on complex transactions and coordinating with business stakeholders on product development and regulatory matters.

This hybrid position offers exposure to CMBS, structured finance, and data center assets, with a base salary of $250,000–$270,000 plus annual bonus, and collaboration

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 6+ years of legal experience at a leading firm, financial institution, rating agency, asset manager, or other sophisticated financial services organization.
• Strong background in commercial real estate finance, structured finance, securitization, or capital markets.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing complex transaction documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior business leaders and external stakeholders.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise on legal matters relating to commercial real estate finance, structured products, and capital markets transactions.
• Review and analyze transaction documents, offering materials, servicing agreements, loan documentation, and related real estate finance instruments.
• Provide legal guidance on CMBS transactions, securitizations, and broader commercial real estate lending structures.
• Partner with business teams on product development, risk management, and regulatory considerations impacting CRE markets.
• Review legal and transactional risks associated with real estate-backed financing structures.
• Support negotiations with counterparties, clients, and external counsel.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting CRE finance and securitization markets.

• Experience with ABS transactions involving data center assets is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of broader structured finance and securitization markets.
