Descrição da oferta de emprego

SUMMARY: Belkin Burden Goldman LLP, a highly regarded NYC real estate law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate or Non-Equity Partner with 7+ years of sophisticated commercial leasing experience to join our growing transactional real estate practice.

This role is ideal for an attorney who can independently manage sophisticated leasing transactions, serve as the primary point of contact for clients, and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice throughout all phases of a transaction. Candidates should possess substantial experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial leases across a variety of asset classes and be comfortable managing matters with limited supervision. Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions is a plus. A portable book of business is welcomed but not required.

This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded NYC real estate boutique law firm with a deep bench, a collaborative culture, and a strong industry presence. Attorneys will work directly with sophisticated real estate owners, developers, investors, and commercial tenants on transactions throughout New York and nationally. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including a hybrid in-office schedule and Summer Hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Draft and negotiate sophisticated commercial leases for both landlord and tenant clients, including retail, office, industrial, restaurant, healthcare, and specialty-use leases throughout New York and nationally.
  • Manage transactions from initial term sheet through execution, including coordination with counterparties, brokers, consultants, lenders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Advise clients on key leasing issues, including operating expenses, construction and build-out, use restrictions, defaults and remedies, assignment and subletting, guaranties, casualty, condemnation, and risk allocation.
  • Independently manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the life cycle of a transaction.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, as appropriate.
  • Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while maintaining responsiveness, efficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to deliver exceptional client service and maintain high-quality work product.
  • Participate in business development, marketing, and client relationship initiatives.
  • Adhere to all firm policies and procedures.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILIITIES REQUIRED:

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Active New York State Bar admission in good standing.
  • 7+ years of sophisticated commercial leasing experience, including substantial experience independently drafting, negotiating, and managing transactions from inception through execution.
  • Significant experience representing landlords and/or tenants across multiple asset classes.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated client matters with limited supervision.
  • Exposure to national leasing transactions preferred.
  • Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, and general transactional real estate matters is a plus.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Interest in and aptitude for business development.
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms.
  • Portable book of business is welcomed, but not required.
  • Candidates with a significant portable practice, demonstrated business development success, or exceptional qualifications may be considered for a Non-Equity Partner title.
