Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP seeks a Real Estate Associate with 4+ years of commercial real estate experience to join our Charlotte, NC office. The role focuses on representing developers, investors, lenders, REITs, and business owners in a broad range of CRE transactions.

Candidates should be proactive, client-service oriented, and able to work collaboratively with our attorneys, staff, and clients from contract to closing.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar in NC or SC.
• Minimum four years of commercial real estate experience in a law firm or in-house.
• Experience handling acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing and development.

Responsabilités

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, and other related deal documents.
• Interface with deal counsel and clients to obtain required documentation.
• Review and negotiate financing agreements with lenders.
• Research legal matters as needed, including real estate law.
• Represent clients in commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions and development projects.
• Draft, review and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, loan documents, and other transaction-related agreements.
• Conduct and manage due diligence, including title and survey review.
• Assist lenders, borrowers, developers, investors, and business owners in sophisticated financial transactions.
• Work directly with clients and opposing counsel to manage transactions from contract through closing.
