Job summary

Safecor Health is seeking a Packaging Technician Lead to direct a team of packaging technicians in repackaging operations and to ensure smooth product flow. The role includes assisting with label checks, maintaining daily production targets, and generating reports under the Supervisor’s direction.

The position requires experience in pharmaceutical packaging or healthcare settings, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Certified Pharmaceutical Technician preferred.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop packing technicians to repack units.
• Identify attendance and performance issues with guidance from Supervisor.
• Balance line production to maximize finished and shipped products.
• Occasionally operate packaging equipment to meet daily production targets.
• Ensure repackaging area complies with OSHA requirements; report incidents promptly.
• Provide updates to Supervisor on packaging performance and department needs.
• Maintain supplies in the work area to prevent downtime.
• Cross-train employees to meet performance requirements.
• Ensure operating procedures and cGMP compliance are followed.

Job description

The role of the Packaging Technician Lead:

The Commercial Production Technician Team Lead is responsible under the Supervisor’s direction for directing the production technicians to repack all the repackaging units. This position assures good product flow in assisting label checking and verification in finished products. Also generates reports as required by the supervisor.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Identifies attendance and performance issues to the Supervisor and is able to administrate progressive discipline counseling.
• Traces daily requirements and assures the completion based on current priorities.
• Assists in moving packaging personnel as required to balance the line production to assure maximum products are finished and shipped daily.
• Occasionally operates the equipment in their department, to assure the daily production requirements are met.
• With the Supervisor’s assistance, assures the repackaging area meets OSHA requirements and occupational accidents are reported in a timely fashion.
• Provide necessary information to Supervisor on packaging performance and other information important to the success of the department.
• Maintain adequate supplies needed in the work area.
• Cross trains employees and assist the newly hired employees to meet the performance requirements of that job.
• Assure employees are following the operating procedures and meeting cGMP requirements

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

Education & Experience

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician, pharmaceutical packaging, in-hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry preferred
• Certified Pharmaceutical Technician desired
• High School Degree/GED required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows
• Working knowledge of mechanical packaging equipment
• Good organizational skills, accurate, reliable, and efficient
