We are actively hiring for a Commercial Pricing Actuarial Analyst!

Your Role:

As a Commercial Pricing Actuarial Analyst, you will prepare and coordinate analyses for insurance rating. You will support individual account pricing, perform portfolio ratemaking analyses, and develop and maintain monitoring tools.

Your work:

  • Conducts actuarially sound statistical analysis by selecting appropriate data sources and making assumptions to develop recommendations for rate updates and competitive analysis.
  • Develops good working knowledge of the insurance business.
  • Documents assumptions, methods, sources and considerations in an organized fashion.
  • Prepares actuarial findings and documents that are suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adheres to assigned work schedule to ensure timely completion of individual tasks and group projects. Notifies leadership anticipating any possible missed deadlines.
  • Participates in peer reviews to increase collaboration, ensure quality work and drive innovation.
  • Prepares rate filings for department of insurance and works with IT to ensure accurate rate implementation.
  • Modernizes work through use of Python, SAS and/or R for data analysis.
  • Depending on experience, provides mentorship and guidance for more junior colleagues.
  • Makes continued progress towards the completion of an actuarial designation through the Casualty Actuarial Society.


Required Experience, Education and Skills:
  • BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related area plus 1+ year of experience performing statistical and actuarial analysis on personal lines insurance OR a graduate degree in a related area required.
  • Completion of two or more actuarial exams required.
