Job summary

Rockland Trust, a full‑service commercial bank, seeks a Commercial Portfolio Manager (C&I) in Burlington, MA with a credit‑focused background to underwrite and manage a loan portfolio. You will support Lending Officers and report to the Commercial Credit Officer in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities include credit evaluation, adherence to LUAG and Credit Policy, risk management, covenant monitoring, and timely credit file updates.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of credit underwriting and portfolio management experience.
• Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
• Formal Credit Training highly preferred.
• Ability to analyze borrower capacity to repay and assess risk.
• Liaison between lending team and Credit Administration/Operations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate loan structure and underwriting exposure under supervision.
• Know LUAG and Credit Policy inside and out.
• Manage approval and commitment processes with committees.
• Proactively manage credit risk and modify terms as needed.
• Maintain timely renewals of loan maturities for portfolio.
• Monitor covenant compliance and issue waivers when required.
• Facilitate borrower financial reporting and risk rating.
• Identify early client risk in designated region.
• Ensure timely credit file updates and record keeping.
• Coordinate pre-closing activities with Lending Officers.
• Engage with borrowers and prospects by phone/email or in person as needed.
