Job summary

Ahern in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Commercial Plumbing Project Manager to oversee bid estimates, review preliminary designs and calculations, and manage plumbing projects from start to finish in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

You’ll coordinate with vendors, prepare change orders, attend jobsite meetings, verify progress, and support turnover with management. A degree is preferred; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and a basic understanding of design.
• Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills; the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Review preliminary design and calculations for bid estimates, and pricing for materials, labor, freight, and fabrication.
• Seek competitive vendors and services to assure competitive bid for plumbing projects.
• Prepare change orders, attend jobsite meetings, verify installation progress and labor projections.
• Assist with turnover meetings and follow-up information with the customer as requested.
• Manage projects in conjunction with designer and construction superintendent.

How You Will Contribute

Apply your project management abilities through reviewing preliminary design and calculations for the bid estimates, reviewing pricing for materials, labor, freight, and fabrication, seeking out competitive vendors and services to assure that Ahern’s plumbing projects are competitively bid. You will also be responsible for preparing change orders for customers, attending jobsite meetings, verifying installation progress, maintaining labor projections, meeting with management on a regular basis to discuss project status and due dates, participating in turnover meetings as required, assisting with any follow-up information with the customer as is requested, assuming an active role in managing the projects in conjunction with the designer and construction superintendent.
