Commercial Loan Servicing Associate – Ottawa, IL

American Commercial Bank & Trust is currently seeking candidates in our bank group for a Commercial Loan Servicer. The Commercial Loan Servicer's primary responsibility is to onboard closed commercial loans into our core lending system and service the Bank's commercial loan portfolio. Onboarding responsibilities include working with the Commercial Banking Associates to verify that the loan has been documented according to the loan approval and then setting up the loan onto the core lending platform, ensuring all loan terms and specifications are accurate. Servicing responsibilities include researching and correcting inaccuracies on loan accounts, payment application, and ongoing monitoring and reporting related to the portfolio. Servicers are expected to assist in enhancing the relationship with the commercial customers throughout the life of the loan. We are seeking candidates with 1+ years of Banking experience and Commercial Loan Servicing experience; strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Key job duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Responsible for onboarding commercial loans which includes obtaining, verifying, and documenting all information required for loan files per internal checklists to adhere with standard policy and procedures.
• Performs general commercial servicing tasks and activities, including preparation of loan payoffs, collateral maintenance, research customer inquiries, and other tasks and projects.
• Assists with maintaining commercial loan file record keeping and filing systems, both paper and electronic. Classifies, sorts, and sends all applicable loan records and other documents to be filed appropriately in loan software.
• Completes a wide variety of documentation and spreadsheets to maintain internal and external reports and forms.
• Monitoring group email for new loans and servicing requests.
• Ensure that loan portfolio follows the Bank's Lending policy at all times.
• Participate in training activities within the department, as well as training outside the department; to stay informed and remain diligent on best practices for commercial loan structure and documentation, and to ensure staff compliance with Bank policies and state and federal regulations and laws.
• Servicing the loan portfolio which includes monitoring government-guaranteed loans, coordinating with third party packaging companies and government program liaisons as necessary.
• Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned.
• Backup responsibilities may include assisting with commercial escrow duties.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma required, some college business coursework desirable.
• Seeking 2+ years of Bank experience, including 1+ years of commercial loan servicing experience.
• Experience with commercial lending software solutions such as LaserPro and LoanVantage is preferred.
• Commercial escrow and commercial insurance knowledge and experience are also desirable.
