Commercial Loan Booking Specialist

Location: Dallas, TX or Columbus, OH (hybrid; generally 4 days onsite)

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced Commercial Loan Booking Specialists to support a high-volume commercial lending operation. These individuals will be responsible for reviewing commercial loan documentation, interpreting loan terms and agreements, and accurately booking loans into the core system. The ideal candidate has direct commercial loan booking experience, is comfortable working with complex and attorney-prepared documentation, and can quickly become productive in a fast-paced banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review commercial loan packages and supporting documentation prior to booking.
• Interpret promissory notes, credit agreements, loan agreements, attorney-prepared documents, and other commercial lending documentation.
• Identify key loan terms and accurately translate those terms into the bank’s core system.
• Book a variety of commercial loan structures, ranging from straightforward transactions to more complex loans.
• Validate documentation and loan setup for completeness and accuracy and elevate discrepancies when appropriate.
• Partner closely with teammates and quality review resources to resolve questions and ensure consistent booking practices.
• Adapt to changing priorities, post-conversion processes, system updates, and special projects.
• Support additional loan review or remediation efforts as business needs require.

Required Qualifications

• Direct, hands-on commercial loan booking experience within a bank or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of commercial loan documentation and the ability to interpret loan terms independently.
• Experience working with complex and/or attorney-prepared commercial loan documents.
• Understanding of how loan documentation translates into core-system booking and setup requirements.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and learn new processes quickly.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Comfort working in a high-volume environment with a broad mix of commercial loan types.

Preferred Qualifications

• AFS Vision commercial loan booking experience.
• Experience booking loans across multiple commercial products and levels of complexity.
• Experience working through bank conversions, integrations, remediation efforts, or other large-scale operational change.
• Exposure to both standardized loan documents and non-standard attorney-prepared packages.

Successful candidates will be able to step into an established commercial loan booking environment, quickly learn the team’s processes and systems, independently work through a variety of loan packages, and collaborate effectively with peers when unusual or complex scenarios arise. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, asking the right questions, and helping the team wherever the need is greatest.

• Hybrid work model, generally four days per week onsite.
