Commercial Litigation Associate (Mid-Level)

Steptoe LLP seeks an associate with 4–6 years of litigation experience to join its Commercial Litigation practice group in Chicago. Qualified candidates will have experience drafting briefs and motions, handling fact and expert discovery, and engaging in deposition and trial preparation. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal, communication, research, analysis, and writing skills, along with a track record of academic and professional excellence. They should be prepared to manage significant responsibilities and take a front-facing role with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.

Requirements include a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active, good-standing Bar membership in the practicing jurisdiction. To be considered, applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and writing sample. Applications via search firms or from candidates with two or fewer years of experience are not accepted. Clerkship applications from search firms are also not accepted.

The anticipated salary range is $310,000 to $390,000, depending on experience and qualifications, as well as other factors such as skills, education, certifications, licenses, and location.
