About the Opportunity
A San Francisco-based boutique law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to handle a range of business and real estate litigation matters. This is a full-time, hybrid position offering hands-on involvement throughout the litigation lifecycle, from initial case development and discovery through depositions, settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
What You'll Do
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and case strategy documents.
- Conduct legal research involving case law, statutes, regulations, and secondary sources.
- Handle discovery and assist with deposition preparation and transcript review.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and arbitration forums.
- Support matters involving settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
- Collaborate with partners and attorneys on litigation and case strategy.
- Manage multiple matters, case files, deadlines, hearings, and conferences.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active California Bar membership or eligibility for prompt admission.
- Law firm litigation experience, preferably involving business and/or real estate litigation.
- Strong experience drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
- Advanced legal research and writing skills.
- Hands-on exposure to depositions.
- Familiarity with California state and federal courts, arbitration proceedings, and administrative hearings.
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills with sound legal judgment.
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Strong interest or experience in real estate or business law preferred.
