Job summary

WiseLex BPO is seeking a driven Commercial Litigation Associate for our San Francisco, CA, Newport Beach, CA, or West Palm Beach, FL offices. The role involves managing cases, drafting briefs, overseeing discovery, and direct client interaction in high-stakes disputes.

Ideal candidates have 3–4 years of civil litigation experience from top firms, boutiques, or government practice, with strong writing and research skills, and active California Bar membership (or transferable eligibility).

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of solid civil litigation experience in state and/or federal court.
• Training at a top-tier law firm, premier litigation boutique, or government practice is preferred.
• Proven ability to draft dispositive motions, manage discovery, and conduct thorough legal research and writing.
• California Bar admission active (or prompt eligibility to transfer); other jurisdictions considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases and discrete litigation components with increasing independence
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and substantive legal briefs
• Conduct and oversee written discovery and deposition practices
• Participate directly in hearings, mediations, client strategy sessions, and depositions
• Collaborate closely with partners on overall litigation strategy and case development
• Analyze evolving statutory and regulatory legal frameworks
• Maintain direct communication with clients, opposing counsel, and regulators
• Support and, where appropriate, take lead responsibility in commercial, governance, regulatory enforcement, and public law matters
