A well-established Chicago-area business law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with approximately 2-4 years of commercial litigation and/or construction litigation experience. Qualifications

• Approximately 2-4 years of litigation experience.
• Commercial litigation and/or construction litigation experience preferred.
• Illinois Bar admission.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Experience with discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
• Ability to manage deadlines and matters independently.
• Interest in developing a broad commercial litigation practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters with increasing independence.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings.
• Handle written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel.
• Assist with trial preparation and resolution strategy.

The Practice

The Litigation Practice Handles Matters Involving

• Commercial and business disputes
• Breach of contract
• Construction litigation and construction defects
• Mechanic's liens
• Real estate and property disputes
• Partnership and shareholder disputes
• Business torts
• Lease and contractual disputes
• Related complex civil litigation

The firm represents both plaintiffs and defendants and works with businesses, construction companies, property owners, developers, financial institutions, and other commercial clients.

Responsibilities
