Job summary

First Chicago Insurance Company, located in Bedford Park just south of Midway Airport, seeks a motivated, customer-focused professional to join our Commercial Lines Underwriting team. You will support new business, endorsements, and renewals while delivering timely responses to agents and policyholders.

Develop knowledge of coverages, rating plans, and state requirements; input policies; order reports; and participate in special projects. Growth and teamwork are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Good typing/data entry skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Underwriting Unit as required for new business, endorsement, and renewal processes.
• Provide a high level of customer service by delivering timely responses to agents/policyholders on quotes, endorsements, and renewals.
• Develop a basic understanding of coverages, exposures, rating plans, and state requirements.
• Enter new business policies, endorsements, and renewals.
• Order reports and assimilate information as required to support the underwriting process.
• Work on special projects as directed.
• Awareness of market conditions, company programs, and competitor products.
