Job summary

Strategic Insurance Partners (SIP) in Nutley, NJ, is seeking a Commercial Lines Marketing Specialist to support new business and renewal efforts. You will market commercial insurance accounts, obtain competitive coverage options, and collaborate with producers, carriers, and underwriting partners.

The role requires NJ P&C licensing and 3+ years in commercial lines marketing, with strong knowledge of products, rating systems, and agency platforms. Hybrid work options in Nutley, NJ are available.

Qualifications

• Active NJ Property & Casualty license required.
• Minimum 3 years of Commercial Lines marketing experience.
• Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines products, coverages, and policy structures.
• Familiarity with carrier appetites, underwriting guidelines, rating forms.
• Experience with agency management systems (AMS360 or Applied Epic).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate new business and renewal submissions for marketing opportunities.
• Partner with Producers and internal teams to assess client insurance needs.
• Prepare and rate standard market submissions through carrier platforms.
• Submit applications to excess and specialty markets when appropriate.
• Develop relationships with carrier underwriters and marketing representatives.
• Coordinate with carriers to secure accurate and competitive quotes.
• Follow up to ensure timely quote delivery from carriers.
• Analyze and compare carrier proposals for best coverage and pricing.
• Present options to Producers for client consultation.
• Bind insurance coverage and coordinate placement.
• Enter client and policy information into the agency management system.
• Maintain organized records throughout the marketing and placement process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Commercial Lines Marketing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the agency's new business and renewal efforts by marketing commercial insurance accounts, obtaining competitive coverage options, and collaborating with producers, carriers, and underwriting partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate new business and renewal submissions for marketing opportunities.
• Partner with Producers and internal team members to assess clients' insurance needs and coverage requirements.
• Prepare and rate standard market submissions through carrier rating platforms and websites.
• Submit applications to excess and specialty markets when appropriate.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier underwriters and marketing representatives.
• Coordinate with carriers to secure accurate and competitive coverage quotes.
• Follow up with carriers and underwriters to ensure timely quote delivery.
• Analyze and compare multiple carrier proposals to identify the most suitable coverage and pricing options for clients.
• Review quotes for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with client needs.
• Present coverage and pricing options to Producers for client consultation.
• Bind insurance coverage and coordinate the placement process.
• Review and verify coverage binders and supporting documentation.
• Accurately enter client and policy information into the agency management system.
• Maintain organized records and documentation throughout the marketing and placement process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey Property & Casualty License required
• Minimum of 3 years of Commercial Lines insurance marketing experience
• Strong understanding of Commercial Lines insurance products, coverages, and policy structures
• Knowledge of carrier appetites, underwriting guidelines, coverage forms, and rating systems
• Experience with agency management systems (e.g., AMS360 or Applied Epic)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external partners
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of our standard onboarding screening process
