Job summary

Amwins is hiring an Associate Underwriter for our Springfield, MO office. This in‑person role supports underwriting operations and client services within a collaborative, growth‑oriented culture.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year insurance experience or a related degree, and a path to obtain a Property & Casualty license within 90 days. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and clear communication are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of prior insurance experience or related degree from a four-year university
• Ability to earn a Property & Casualty License within 90 days, license cost reimbursed and study support provided
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft 365, with emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
• Effective communication skills, verbal and written
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to prioritize important and pressing tasks

Responsibilities

• Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes
• Rate and prepare new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter
• Review and handle inspection recommendations and discrepancies
• Monitor various reports for consistency
• Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits
• Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
• Data entry into multiple internet based systems
