Job summary

Acrisure is seeking an Account Manager to serve as a primary client contact, handling policy administration, renewals, and client inquiries on-site in Pierre, SD. The role emphasizes accurate data handling and collaboration with Producers and cross-functional teams.

The position prioritizes strong communication, organizational skills, and understanding of underwriting guidelines. On-site presence and ongoing professional development are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Service accounts: quotes, policies, renewals, endorsements, certificates, and correspondence.
• Respond to client inquiries and internal requests promptly.
• Engage in insurance marketing and sales.
• Collect renewal data for assigned accounts.
• Provide claims support.
• Develop coverage strategies and plans as needed.
• Review policies and endorsements for accuracy.
• Maintain client data in agency management system.
• Document activities in the agency system.
• Assist other departments in securing information for policies.
• Keep Producers informed of account activities.
• Stay updated on industry trends and license compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of underwriting requirements and policy provisions.

Job Summary

Account Managers perform more routine responsibilities and are primary points of contact for clients they oversee. Account Managers are individual contributors with occasional guidance or direct supervision. Account managers know and apply the principles of insurance to everyday situations and perform routine responsibilities and can develop coverage strategies and plans.

Responsibilities

• Service accounts, including account transactions such as quote and issue policies, ID cards, proposal endorsements, certificates, claims, renewals, follow-up, and correspondence.


• Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, and company request needs on a timely basis.


• Insurance marketing and sales.


• Collect renewal data on assigned accounts.


• Claims support.


• Develop coverage strategies and plans, as necessary.


• Review new/renewal policies and endorsements to ensure items were received as ordered.


• Maintain accuracy of client data in agency management system (Applied Systems / EPIC)


• Document all activities in agency management system (Applied Systems / EPIC)


• Understand and utilize upload, download, and interface technology.


• Assist other departments in securing and/or providing information necessary to issue appropriate policies in their department for which we have a mutual client.


• Keeping Producers informed of all important activities on their accounts including being sensitive to potential problems and informing management.


• Keep current with industry trends including participation in educational seminars and classes for improvement of insurance/sales skills and license compliance.


• Maintain knowledge of current underwriting requirements of contracted insurance carriers.


• Maintain knowledge of policy provisions and any changes in these provisions.


• Complete other functions and assignments assigned, including backup duties.

Requirements

• Active Property & Casualty License Required.


• Strong organizational skills- the ability to discern priority and initiative.


• Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong people skills


• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, premiums, commissions, proportions, and percentages.


• Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions and deal with a variety of variables furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


• Applied Systems / EPIC experience is a plus.


• Know and apply principles of insurance to everyday situations.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma required.


• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines.


• CPCU or special training course completion is a plus.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
