Job description

General Description: Manage 20 to 30 large and/or complex Commercial Lines Habitational insurance accounts as the day-to-day client contact. Activities include new and renewal marketing, fielding questions and requests, and coverage review. Assist Sales Executives team and provide guidance to Account Representatives and/or Account Managers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned high-touch, complex Commercial Lines clients.
  2. Provide insurance technical expertise to clients and members of the Account Management and Sales Executive team.
  3. Responsible for marketing and placement of client Commercial Lines insurance renewals.
    1. With assistance from Account Representatives, prepare client applications for review.
    2. Determine most-appropriate carriers for market pricing.
    3. Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings.
    4. Make insurance program recommendations to clients.
  4. Manage client renewal expirations and avoid any lapse in coverage.
  5. Complex negotiation with carriers on behalf of clients.
  6. Process policies, endorsements, and audits as needed.
  7. Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
  8. Represent client interests in internal USI account strategy meetings.
  9. Delegate administrative client tasks to assigned Account Representatives.
  10. Respond to underwriters’ questions in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems.
  12. Frequent in-person attendance at face-to-face client meetings, with and without Sales Executives.
  13. Regular carrier interaction and frequent face-to-face meetings with underwriters.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. 10+ years experience in a Commercial Lines agency. College degree preferred.
  2. Expert understanding of Property & Casualty insurance.
  3. Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license.
  4. Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU strongly preferred.
  5. Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
  6. Knowledge of Sagitta / ImageRight preferred, but not required.
  7. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  8. Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
  9. Keep informed about industry information, technology, and trends.
