Job summary

Complete Landscaping Services, part of a national network, is seeking a Commercial Landscape - Laborer in Sterling, VA. The role focuses on maintaining commercial landscapes and supporting foremen in daily tasks.

The position requires reliable teamwork, basic plant knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively. A valid state driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory; bilingual skills are a plus. Training is provided, with growth opportunities in Monarch’s network.

Responsibilities

• Maintain commercial landscapes as directed by Foreman.
• Safe operation of landscaping equipment listed in responsibilities.
• Assist with basic plant ID and pruning tasks as needed.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and adhere to dress code.
• Follow Monarch Safety Policy and company rules at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience

• Commercial landscape experience preferred, but not required

License or Certification

• Valid Driver’s License issued from state of employment, preferred but not required.

Specialized Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with Foreman and team members
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
• Strong commitment to high quality of work and customer service
• Ability to complete tasks assigned in a timely manner
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks
• Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

• Frequently works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
• Frequently exposed to loud noise levels

Essential Duties

• Ensure Maintain job site as instructed by Foreman. Possible duties include, but are not limited to mowing, raking, weeding, shearing, edging, and hand pruning
• Safe operation of equipment, including : 21” and 36” mowers; power hedge shears; power shears; backpack blower; aerator
• Basic understanding of Plant ID
• Basic hand pruning skills
• Basic skill in shearing shrubs and hedges
• Operate all vehicles and equipment in accordance’s with Monarch Safety Policy
• Abide by Monarch code of conduct at all times
• Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting procedures
• All other duties as assigned.
