We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager for our growing operations! The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and is able to keep a positive attitude under pressure and while juggling multiple priorities.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for managing sales efforts within the assigned territory by acting as an intermediary between Monarch Operations staff and prospective clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Horticulture, or equivalent experience

Experience

  • At least 5 years related work experience
  • At least 3 years B2B sales experience

License or Certification

  • As required by state and federal law
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the state where employed
  • Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) and/or other relevant licenses a plus

Specialized Skills

  • Strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Ability to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel extensively within the territory
  • Experience working with commercial property managers is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including advanced presentation skills in front of large groups
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate understanding of CRM software
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business periodicals
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various formats
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop, present, and negotiate service portfolios with Operations management
  • Manage sales opportunities using client databases
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through cold-calling, research, and internal leads
  • Prepare job estimates and proposals with operational support
  • Respond promptly to RFPs
  • Achieve or surpass sales targets
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and proposals
  • Build relationships with key clients for ongoing sales opportunities
  • Attend meetings and trade events to identify opportunities
  • Ensure smooth contract transition from signing to fulfillment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
