Job summary

Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley is seeking a dedicated lawn care worker to direct and perform landscape maintenance on assigned properties. The role involves operating mowing and ground maintenance equipment, planning mowing, edging, pruning, and mulching tasks, and ensuring daily work aligns with weather conditions and safety policies.

The ideal candidate will have prior landscape or lawn care experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Direct lawn care efforts and supervise related tasks.

Job description

Summary

Responsible for directing the efforts of lawn care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws.
2. Operate ground maintenance equipment.
3. Drive trucks or other vehicles to or at work sites.
4. Prune trees and shrubs.
5. Plan to landscape projects, including mowing, edging, pruning, mulching, and trimming.
6. Schedule work for 10-12 homes and check for weather conditions before convening.
7. Enforce contract agreements.
8. Mow lawns with riding and self-propelled walk behind mowers.
9. Whack weeds, trim bushes, and edge lawns using a variety of machines.
10. Sweep walkway of debris.
11. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
12. Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
13. Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in ground keeping.
14. Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, HIPAA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
15. Other duties may be assigned.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not required.

Experience Requirements:

Previous landscape/lawn care experience.
