Job description

Hunt Electric, Inc is searching for Electrical Service Technicians to join our team. This is a full-time position with opportunities to grow and expand your knowledge in our Service Department.

Our Electrical Service Technicians need to adapt to changing codes, regulations, and safety requirements, have the ability to troubleshoot, pull wire, bend pipe and compute electrical formulas. This position requires the knowledge to install control circuits and other components. We are looking for someone with the capabilities to read, interpret, and understand electrical plans, complex circuit schematics, and blueprints.

A current Utah Journeyman license is required. A valid reciprocal state journeyman license will be considered if a Utah license is obtained within 30 days. We are looking for well-rounded journeyman electricians with good customer service skills. Our Electrical Service Technicians will work with various customers to install electrical work, troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems quickly and efficiently, and be well-rounded in all aspects of electrical work.

Major Duties

• Respond to jobs as scheduled by coordinator and manager.
• Be proficient in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues.
• Keep van stocked as described with material per the list provided by manager.
• Always drive van in a professional and courteous manner.
• Keep van clean, organized and ensure all tools are maintained and accounted for.
• Always maintain a neat and presentable appearance.
• Order materials as required for job completion.
• Fill out paperwork daily and turn in as directed by manager.
• Upon leaving let customer know you are finished and verify satisfaction.
• Ensure work order is signed prior to leaving site.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
• Sell service whenever possible and when in areas with other businesses around. Leave a card or pamphlet with each completed project.
• Work together with other technicians and managers on ideas for improvement. Shared knowledge prevents making the same mistakes twice.
• Support other technicians to create an environment of positive communication.
• Show customers sense of urgency, discuss the project with them, if needed, and complete work in a timely manner.
• Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Be respectful and courteous at all times.
• Problem solving.
• Leave job site cleaner than when it was when you got there.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR for the past 7 years.
• Operating vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to work with other trades.
• Experience in all aspects of electrical systems including commercial, industrial, residential, electrical efficiency, fire alarm, lighting control systems, lighting types, heat tape, and experience with Xcel Energy and other electrical utility guidelines.
• Be flexible with constant changes and moving around.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 7:00am - 2:00pm.
