Job summary

Martin Painting & Coating Co. is seeking an experienced Commercial Interior Painter for interior painting on commercial projects in Columbus, OH.

The ideal candidate has professional commercial painting experience, can prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and deliver high-quality finishes while following project specifications and safety procedures. This role requires prior commercial painting experience and is not for entry-level applicants.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial painting experience required.
• Experience with interior painting in commercial buildings.
• Strong brush and roller application skills.
• Experience with surface preparation, masking, and detail work.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Physically demanding work capability.
• Comfortable working from ladders or lifts.
• Must be clean shaven for respirator compliance.
• Reliable transportation.
• Smartphone required for timesheets and work communications.
• Availability to work at least two weekends per month.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior painting work on commercial projects.
• Prepare walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other assigned surfaces.
• Scrape, sand, clean, and prepare surfaces before painting.
• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and appropriate painting equipment.
• Complete cut-in work, touch-ups, and detailed finish painting.
• Mask and protect floors, fixtures, windows, and surrounding surfaces.
• Identify areas that require additional surface preparation.
• Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials.
• Keep assigned work areas clean and organized.
• Coordinate painting activities safely around other trades when required.
• Follow project specifications and jobsite safety requirements.

Pay: $22–$27 per hour

Position Overview

Martin Painting & Coating Co. is seeking an experienced Commercial Interior Painter to perform interior painting on commercial projects. The ideal candidate has professional commercial painting experience and can prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and deliver consistent, high-quality finishes while following project specifications and safety procedures.

Previous commercial painting experience is required. This position is not intended for entry-level applicants, apprentices, or painting helpers.
