Marshall+Sterling is seeking a licensed Client Service Specialist for Commercial Lines, based in the Poughkeepsie office. You will review coverage, underwrite risks, and coordinate with Sales Executives and Account Managers to secure applications.

The role emphasizes accuracy, client communication, and retention, with a strong ESOP culture and comprehensive benefits. Prior insurance experience and licenses are required for success.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in insurance lines of coverage, fundamental rating, underwriting and procedural skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Vertafore is a plus.
• State insurance licenses and continuing education required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review policy coverage and identify areas for enhancements.
• Underwrite individual risk to meet agency and carrier standards.
• Secure applications for coverage from Sales Executives, Account Managers, and/or clients.
• Review policies for accuracy and completeness, ensuring updates per workflow procedures.
• Address cancellation requests and assist in retaining accounts.
• Regularly communicate with clients about coverage and exposures.
• Perform financial duties as directed by management.
