Job summary

High School Diploma or GED; ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

Installs, services and repairs HVAC environmental control systems in commercial facilities.
Mounts and positions units per blueprints or engineering specs.
Fabricates and installs ductwork and chassis parts using metalworking tools and welding equipment.
Cuts and bends tubing, joins tubes using sleeves or unions, and solders joints to form refrigerant circuits.
Connects motors, compressors, and controls to control panels and power supply.
Performs pressure tests on systems and checks joints before refrigerant charging.
Observes gauges and adjusts controls for proper operation.
Insulates pipes and secures them in place.
Replaces defective breaker controls and installs units using electrical tools.
May service air conditioners, chillers up to 400-ton capacity in commercial facilities.
Maintains safety by following drug screen and background checks requirements.
