Job summary

New England Total Energy (NETR) is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician in Stoneham, MA. You will diagnose and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including RTUs, walk-ins, ice machines, and display cases.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of field experience or a 2-year HVAC/R degree, EPA 608, OSHA 10, and a valid license. Company vehicle and top pay are offered for year-round work.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of commercial HVAC/R service experience or 2-year HVAC/R technical degree with field experience.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal)
• OSHA 10 Certification
• Hot Work Certification
• State or municipal refrigeration/mechanical license where required

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Service rooftop units (RTUs), walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, ice machines, display cases, and refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using wiring diagrams and test equipment.
• Recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerants per EPA regulations.
• Repair and replace compressors, condensers, evaporators, TXVs, and related components.
• Read blueprints, piping diagrams, and equipment schematics.
• Complete service documentation and communicate findings to customers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Service rooftop units (RTUs), walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, ice machines, display cases, and refrigeration systems
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using wiring diagrams, multimeters, and manufacturer specifications
• Recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations
• Repair and replace compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves (TXVs), EPR valves, and related components
• Read blueprints, piping diagrams, and equipment schematics
• Complete service documentation accurately and communicate findings with customers
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment

What We're Looking For

• 5–7 years of commercial HVAC/R service experience or a 2-year HVAC/R technical degree with relevant field experience
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal required)
• OSHA 10 Certification
• Hot Work Certification
• High school diploma plus completion of a vocational or technical HVAC/R program
• State or municipal refrigeration/mechanical license where required
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Experience servicing commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment
• Ability to work independently and provide outstanding customer service
