Job summary

CaptiveAire Systems in Milwaukee, WI seeks an experienced Service Technician to commission, service, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC/R systems. The role requires hands-on HVAC expertise, the ability to read schematics, and a strong focus on safety and customer communication.

The position offers full-time hours, a comprehensive benefits package, and travel to customer sites. Training through our PA facility is required for new hires, with safety as a top priority.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC systems.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (required).
• OSHA 10 (suggested) and EPA Universal certification (suggested).

Responsibilities

• Commissioning CaptiveAire equipment and verifying operation via tests and inspections.
• Service and repair of commercial HVAC/R systems as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Read electrical schematics and blueprints to diagnose complex issues.
• Communicate with facility managers about repairs and maintenance recommendations.
• Adhere to EPA regulations and safety policies at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Commissioning of CaptiveAire Equipment: Verifying CAS products operate as designed by testing airflows, reviewing installations, testing product functions by connecting laptops and running automated test, and physical testing of all equipment.
• Service & Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC/R systems.
• Maintenance: Develop, maintain, and perform routine preventive maintenance on various commercial mechanical systems to ensure optimal efficiency and operation.
• Diagnostics: Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose complex system issues.
• Customer Care: Communicate clearly and professionally with facility managers, property owners, and team members regarding system status, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
• Compliance & Safety: This is a safety sensitive position with strict adherence to EPA regulations and company safety standards at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC systems, or related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (required)
• OSHA 10 Certification (suggested)
• EPA Universal Certification (suggested)
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of single/three-phase electrical systems, ability to read commercial wiring schematics, refrigeration cycles.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift independently, up to 50 lbs., work on ladders/roofs, tight spaces, and perform work in varied weather conditions.
• Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal/written communication skills, and must be a safety minded individual.
• Clean and Professional appearance: Company uniforms are provided and required.
• Training: New hire training will require a 1-week course at our R&D facility located in PA. Ability to travel with be required.
