Job summary

TDIndustries, Inc. is seeking a Service Projects Tech IV to install and retrofit HVAC systems in commercial and industrial settings, reading blueprints and specifications while following all safety policies.

This role serves as a frontline resource to service techs and provides guidance to other technicians. You will lead installation of various equipment types, operate tools, ensure project profitability, manage subcontractors, and coordinate with customers to confirm satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a related two-year technical degree is highly desirable.
• EPA Universal Certification is required for this role.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Experience leading installation teams and coordinating with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Installs and retrofits HVAC systems with piping and sheet metal tradecraft.
• Work includes split systems, VRF, AHUs, chillers, and exhaust fans.
• Leads installation tasks and coordinates with technicians.
• Operates hand and power tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Manages quotes, ensures profitability, and maintains customer satisfaction.
• Oversees subcontractor coordination and QA/QC tasks.
• Participates in after-hours projects as needed.
• Adheres to fleet safety and company policies.
• Purchases materials and issues PO numbers to suppliers.
• Maintains tools and inventory on service vehicle.
• Works effectively with app-based software.

Job Summary

The Service Projects Tech IV installs and/or retrofits new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (duct and equipment) in commercial and/or industrial settings, reads and interprets blueprints and specifications, and adheres to all safety policies and procedures. Serves as a front-line resource to service technicians through technical support and provides guidance and training to other technicians.

Essential Duties

• Installs and performs retrofits of HVAC systems with expert knowledge of piping and/or sheet metal tradecrafts.


• Types of equipment workedon will include split systems, mini split systems, VRF multizone systems, RTUS, WSHP, self-contained systems, CRAC units, air cooled chillers, cooling towers, airside equipment, AHUs and exhaust fans of all types.


• Demonstrated ability to lead the installation of various types of equipment.


• Proficiently operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring/testing equipment.


• Completes quoted projects with high quality while maintaining profitability. Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction.


• Performs sub-contractor management on quoted projects including coordination and scheduling of vendors. Provides guidance to sub-contractors as needed and performs QA‑QC tasks.


• Participates in after-hours quoted projects (as needed) per customer requirements.


• Safely operates motor vehicles and trailers as evidenced by past driving performance record. Meets requirements of fleet safety and driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.


• Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers and sub-contractors.


• Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.


• Able to work effectively with app-based software

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED. A two-year technical degree in a related field is highly desirable.


• EPA Certification is a must for this role, with Universal Certification being highly preferred.
