Job summary
Mechanical Comfort, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial systems within a Central Iowa territory.
The role offers home-daily travel with occasional longer drives to customer sites and opportunities to grow into refrigeration, boilers, controls or scientific equipment. You will independently diagnose and service rooftop units, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical/controls, document activities digitally,
Qualifications
- Meaningful commercial HVAC/R service experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic fundamentals.
- Ability to independently service commercial HVAC equipment.
- Electrical troubleshooting competency.
- EPA Type II certification.
- Customer-facing communication ability.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving eligibility.
- Willingness to participate in the Service on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose commercial HVAC/R system problems methodically.
- Service and repair commercial rooftop equipment, including larger-tonnage systems.
- Perform planned and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues.
- Communicate findings and recommended next steps to customers.
- Complete accurate digital service documentation.
- Track time, parts and follow-up requirements.
- Work independently across an assigned Central Iowa territory.
- Participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
- Maintain safe work practices and a professional customer presence.
