Job summary

Cooper Oates Air Conditioning, Inc. in the Greater Sacramento Area seeks a seasoned sheet metal installer to fabricate, install, and align ductwork on medium and light-commercial projects. The role requires reading plans, performing layouts and material take-offs, and installing HVAC equipment.

You will work with VRF/VRV systems, piping, and controls, while prioritizing safety and quality workmanship. A strong team player with good communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of demonstrated experience as a sheet metal installer.
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Ability to field measure and assess installation material requirements.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install sheet metal ductwork.
• Perform detailed layouts and material take-offs.
• Complete installation on medium and light-commercial projects.
• Setting HVAC equipment, duct work, hangers and sheet metal fabrication.
• Equipment changeouts including duct, piping, controls, startup.
• Install VRF/VRV systems.
• Familiar with plans, specifications and duct installation codes.

Job description

Perform all aspects of commercial sheet metal and installation including fabrication and assembly of ductwork, installing a variety of equipment including fan coils, exhaust fans, package and split systems, VRF/VRV, CRAC units, piping, re-heat and air registers. Ability to perform installations in a wide variety of settings including commercial offices, hotels, multi-use dwellings, process and medical installations.

Essential Duties

• Fabricate and install sheet metal ductwork
• Perform detailed layouts and material take-offs
• Complete installation on medium and light-commercial projects
• Setting HVAC equipment, duct work, hangers and sheet metal fabrication
• Equipment changeouts including duct, piping, controls, startup
• Install VRF/VRV systems
• Be thoroughly familiar with plans, specifications and duct installation codes

Experience Required

• Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience as a sheet metal installer
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
• Ability to field measure and assess installation material requirements
• Strong communication skills

Preferred

• Experience being the lead journeyman in a variety of construction settings
• Current Safety certifications
• Experience training and supervising apprentices
