Job summary

Yates Company, LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Project Manager to oversee HVAC, plumbing, piping, duct work, and chiller replacement service contracts from award through completion. You will manage budgets, ensure quality, and drive customer satisfaction from the office and field locations in Central and South Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5+ years in commercial HVAC, temperature control, or electrical fields.
• 3+ years in project management, estimating, or engineering of commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience in corporate or customer-facing roles with daily client interaction and scheduling.
• Experience managing HVAC service operations; familiarity with controls systems is a plus.
• Ability to oversee multiple crews and concurrent projects.
• PM experience in a commercial HVAC environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet project margins, revenue, and operating income targets by coordinating with sales, operations, and techs.
• Maintain monthly manpower projections and coordinate hiring as needed.
• Establish quality standards and perform field inspections to document results.

Our rapidly growing company seeks an eager and hard-working professional to join our team as aCommercial HVAC Project Managertooversee the execution of commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, duct work, and chiller replacement mechanical service contracts from award through final completion.This exciting career opportunity will provide operational, mechanical, and administrative support across the Service Operations Department.

TheProject Manageroperates both independently and in concert with all Service Operations team members andis ultimately responsible for the short-term and long-term performance of the Service Operations projects. The primary areas of responsibility are financial performance of projects, work quality, customer base maintenance, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Financial Performance: Meet required project margin, revenue, and operating income requirements by working closely with sales, construction operations, and techs to ensure collaboration between departments. Work with the Leadership Team to develop an annual operating budget.
• Staffing: Work with Service Operations Manager to maintain and publish Monthly manpower projections. Coordinate with Human Resources to recruit and hire as needed.
• Quality: Establish quality standards with a system to measure, grade, and record. Perform regular field inspections. Use work quality evaluations as a review objective for all staff.
• Customer Satisfaction: Monitor customer retention rate and warranty call back rate.
• Safety: Maintain a companywide safety program ensuring employee participation at every level.
• Training: Promote employee training and development programs.
• Leadership: Develop and maintain team-centered morale within department. Embrace and promote the Y8S mission and core values driving exceptional products and services to our customers while nurturing a work environment that promotes quality of life for the employees.
• Overseeing RFI’s from initial drafting through official responses and final implementation.
• Submitting, documenting, and ensuring completion of fully executed change orders.
• Accurately forecast revenue monthly to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual plans.
• Responsible for:
• Project Knowledge – Must allocate the necessary amount of time to fully understand the requirements of each project. This includes but is not limited to project plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Job Progress Coordination – Assess project progress and effectively communicating with the Service Operations Manager to ensure technicians are scheduled with sufficient time to perform required tasks.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in commercial HVAC, temperature control, and/or the electrical industry; a bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred.
• At least three years’ experience in project management, estimating, or engineering of commercial HVAC systems.
• Proven experience in corporate settings or customer-facing roles involving daily client interaction, team scheduling, and the delivery of exceptional customer service.
• Experience managing HVAC service operations; familiarity with controls systems a plus.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple crews and manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Project Management experience within a commercial HVAC environment is preferred.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project, as well as general software navigation; experience with MS Teams and Smartsheet is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, reference check, and background check.
• Excellent leadership skills to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced.
• Proficient in working with others to plan, conduct, and report work efforts.
• Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments. Must be able to manage and prioritize a large workload.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information into clear, easily understoodcommunication for a wide range of audiences.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance consistent with the role, recognizing this is a customer-facing position where proper representation of the company is essential.
• Experience managing budgets for commercial HVAC or building automation controls projects.

Work is performed in a primarily office environment including remote locations or on-site at project locations. Project locations include work sites in commercial, industrial, institutional buildings, or other construction areas including outdoors environments.
