Carrier is seeking a Commercial HVAC Journeyman Service Technician in Lenexa, KS. You will perform hands-on field service, diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, with access to advanced tools and training.

The role emphasizes safety, customer communication, and reliable fault diagnosis in a union environment. You’ll install and calibrate equipment, service chillers and refrigeration, and support design and planning activities while adhering to EPA regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years practical working experience in HVAC
• 2+ years chiller experience
• EPA Universal
• Must possess valid driver’s license
• Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs and work on rooftops

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain air-conditioning and HVAC systems for efficient operation
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heating and cooling units
• Install, replace, and calibrate HVAC equipment including thermostatic controls and liquid lines
• Service refrigeration equipment such as refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs and heat pumps
• Maintain chilled and hot water supply systems and adjust internal control systems
• Assemble and install metal ductwork and assist in HVAC system planning and design
• Ensure compliance with City, State, and EPA regulations by maintaining detailed maintenance records
• Identify and mitigate risks to maintain a safe working environment
• Collaborate with management to support safety and operational standards
