Job summary

K Komfort Heating & Cooling is hiring an experienced HVAC Installer/Technician for our expanding commercial construction team in Wisconsin. You will install, commission, and service large-scale HVAC systems on new builds, read blueprints, and collaborate with project foremen and other trades to meet safety and code standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification or apprenticeship in HVAC preferred.
• Proven experience as an HVAC installer/technician in a construction environment with commercial equipment.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and functionality.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet requirements to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair large-scale HVAC equipment including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, VAV systems, and VRF technology.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, and specifications to determine layout, materials, and installation sequence.
• Perform rough-in work; layout and install duct systems, vents, baths, returns, and line sets per design and codes.
• Perform finish work: set and mount air handlers, furnaces, condensers, HRVs/ERVs, thermostats, grilles, registers, and accessories; ensure proper airflow and operation.
• Install and connect refrigerant piping, condensate drains, and low-voltage/equipment wiring per diagrams, codes, and safety standards.
• Measure and determine ductwork and piping requirements; cut materials to size and assemble as necessary.
• Collaborate with project foreman and other trades to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Comply with safety standards and regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure all installations meet safety and building code requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Responsible for installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in new construction projects, often multi-story or large scale commercial sites. This role requires technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively with other construction professionals to ensure that all systems are installed efficiently and safely. We are specifically seeking individuals with proven commercial HVAC experience including the technical skill to work on central chillers, cooling towers, boilers, variable air volume (VAV) systems, and with variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology.

Physical Demands & Cognitive Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials including but not limited to work on commercial rooftops or inside mechanical rooms.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Exposure to construction site conditions.
• Requirement to use personal protective equipment.
