Cortez Heating & Air Conditioning seeks an experienced HVAC Installation Technician to install heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems in residential and commercial settings in the Bradenton area. You will ensure installations meet manufacturer specs, codes, and our standards while delivering high-quality workmanship.

The role requires 3–5 years of installation experience, blueprint literacy, and strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, RTUs and mini-splits.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to plan installations.
• Assemble, mount and secure HVAC components; ensure proper alignment and operation.
• Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting and refrigerant lines to spec.
• Test systems for operation, efficiency and safety; troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain safe work areas; communicate with customers about operation and warranty.

Overview
The HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for installing heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems in residential and commercial settings. This role ensures that HVAC systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards while delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, rooftop units (RTUs), and mini-splits
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute installations
• Assemble, mount, and secure HVAC components, ensuring proper alignment and operation
• Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines according to manufacturer specifications and local codes
• Test installed systems for proper operation, efficiency, and safety
• Diagnose and troubleshoot installation issues, and adjust as needed
• Ensure all work areas are clean and safe during and after installations
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding system operation, maintenance, and warranty information
• Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion
• Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working order

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of HVAC installation experience [Residential and/or Commercial]
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• HVAC Certification [Technical school certification preferred]
• Valid Driver’s License with ability to pass company’s MVR requirements
  Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and adhere to all safety guidelines
• Familiarity with building codes, HVAC equipment manufacturers, and industry standards
