Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a skilled HVAC installer for commercial retrofit work in Phoenix. You will replace HVAC equipment, install VAV/VRF systems and advanced controls, and perform rough-in and low-voltage wiring.

You’ll read blueprints, ensure code compliance, and coordinate with customers on-site. The role requires 2+ years in HVAC, EPA Universal certification, OSHA-10, and physical ability to handle equipment and tight spaces.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on HVAC experience.
• Reading blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• EPA Universal certification required.
• OSHA 10 required.
• Physical ability to climb ladders and lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Remove and replace commercial heating and cooling equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, chillers, and rooftop units.
• Install modern systems such as VAV and VRF equipment and advanced building controls.
• Run low-voltage control wiring and complete rough-in work.
• Assist with light sheet metal fabrication and installation as needed.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
• Communicate with customers on-site to explain work being performed.
• Work with crew members to keep projects on schedule and meet expectations.
