Job summary

Minneapolis Glass is seeking a skilled Commercial Glazing Estimator II to independently estimate a wide range of commercial glazing projects. The role emphasizes solving construction challenges, building competitive bids, and delivering profitable outcomes within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; degree preferred in Construction Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of commercial estimating experience.
• Experience estimating glazing, storefront, curtain wall, interior glazing or architectural glass systems.
• Ability to independently prepare accurate estimates for standard commercial projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, specs, blueprint interpretation, and quantity takeoff.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and Excel; experience with GDS, PartnerPak, Glazier Studio, or similar software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently estimate storefront, curtain wall, interior glazing, entrances, and other standard commercial glazing projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to develop complete, competitive proposals.
• Identify scope, clarifications, exclusions, and risks before bid submission.
• Prepare accurate material takeoffs, labor estimates, and proposal documentation.
• Develop competitive supplier pricing and evaluate product alternatives when appropriate.
• Collaborate with architects, general contractors, owners, Sales, Project Managers, and Operations throughout the estimating process.
• Provide organized project turnover information after award to support execution.
• Assist onboarding and mentoring newer estimators; attend sales events and tradeshows.
• Recommend improvements to estimating tools, workflows, and documentation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Estimator II, you'll independently manage standard commercial project bids, coordinate across departments, and continuously improve estimating processes to develop accurate, competitive proposals.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently estimate storefront, curtain wall, interior glazing, entrances, and other standard commercial glazing projects
• Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to develop complete and competitive proposals
• Identify scope requirements, clarifications, exclusions, and potential project risks before bid submission
• Prepare accurate material takeoffs, labor estimates, and proposal documentation
• Develop competitive supplier pricing and evaluate product alternatives when appropriate
• Collaborate with architects, general contractors, owners, Sales, Project Managers, and Operations throughout the estimating process
• Provide organized project turnover information following project award to support successful execution
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring newer estimators while sharing estimating best practices. Attend sales events and tradeshows.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
• 3–5 of commercial estimating experience
• Experience estimating commercial glazing, storefront, curtain wall, interior glazing, or architectural glass systems
• Demonstrated ability to independently prepare accurate estimates for standard commercial construction projects with minimal supervision
• Strong understanding of commercial construction documents, specifications, blueprint interpretation, and quantity takeoff skills
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel; experience with GDS, PartnerPak, Glazier Studio, or similar estimating software preferred
