John Leonard, a Boston law firm, seeks a Commercial Transaction Paralegal to support attorneys in a broad range of finance and real estate transactions. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of commercial finance experience, preferably in a law firm, with strong drafting and client-service skills.

The position is full-time in Boston, with a standard Mon-Fri schedule and non-exempt status. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
• Paralegal Certificate or additional paralegal education preferred
• 4+ years of commercial finance experience in a law firm environment
• Experience supporting commercial transactions, commercial lending, real estate finance, or loan closings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe/PDF, and Outlook
• Experience using legal, USPTO, government, and electronic filing systems
• Strong proofreading and writing skills with attention to detail
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple transactions, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, vendors, and outside counsel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Mansioni

• Support attorneys through all stages of commercial finance transactions, from initial preparation through closing and post-closing
• Prepare and organize transaction documents, closing agendas, settlement statements, ancillary loan documents, and corporate documents
• Conduct and coordinate due diligence, including title, UCC, tax lien, litigation, and corporate entity searches
• Review and analyze due diligence materials for issues and lender closing compliance
• Review title exams, commitments, and policies for commercial real estate transactions and summarize findings
• Research recorded documents through Registry of Deeds and Land Court websites
• Request and review UCC, tax lien, litigation, and other searches
• Prepare and file UCC financing statements in appropriate jurisdictions
• Assist with commercial loan closings and post-closing due diligence
• Track closing agenda items and ensure transactions stay on schedule
• Prepare and organize closing binders and electronic deal files
• Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, outside counsel, and other parties by phone and email
• Research corporate entity status across jurisdictions
• Respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
