Tri City Glass & Door Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Commercial Fabrication Supervisor to oversee daily fabrication operations, drive safety and quality, and mentor Fabricators and Youth Apprentices. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes continuous improvement and on-time project delivery.

You will coordinate workload with Project Managers, ensure alignment with shop drawings, and manage inventory and maintenance while promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Experience leading fabrication teams in commercial construction or glazing environments preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain it.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, mentor Fabricators and Youth Apprentices while promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Approve and manage employee timecards, Paycor requests, performance reviews, and policy compliance.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices, PPE requirements, and company safety policies.
• Plan, prioritize, delegate, and coordinate fabrication workloads to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Installation teams, and other departments for efficient project execution.
• Ensure all fabricated products meet quality standards, specifications, shop drawings, and customer requirements prior to delivery or installation.
• Fabricate, assemble, modify, and install commercial aluminum, steel, glass, doors, frames, hardware, and related products.
• Operate fabrication equipment, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and other shop machinery safely.
• Perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Manage inventory levels, assist with material ordering, conduct year-end inventory counts, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Summary:

The Commercial Fabrication Supervisor oversees daily fabrication operations, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and employee development. This position supervises Fabricators and Youth Apprentices, coordinates workload and scheduling, and serves as a hands-on leader committed to continuous improvement and the overall success of the Commercial Division.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and technical specifications
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
• Ability to perform shop math and accurately read a tape measure
• Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and internal departments
• Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, pull, and perform physical work throughout the workday
• Ability to work in a shop and warehouse environment

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Three or more years of fabrication experience in a commercial construction, glazing, door, or related manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred
• Experience reading blueprints, shop drawings, and construction specifications preferred
• Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
