Job summary

AMETEK Inc. seeks a Commercial Excellence Manager to streamline sales processes, enhance BI, and manage CRM across NCC, VIS, and Motec in a remote US role.

You will drive forecasting, pricing, and automation with cross-functional partners, while leveraging AI to improve productivity and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in analyst, sales operations, sales, marketing, finance, or related commercial role.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with multiple priorities.
  • Fluent in CRM systems such as Salesforce, Power BI, and sales reporting tools.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, OneNote and SharePoint.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve process efficiency, reporting automation, data analysis, and sales productivity.
  • Ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences including leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects to enhance the ICVS sales process for efficiency and customer experience.
  • Maintain BI solutions including Power BI dashboards and data governance.
  • Develop executive dashboards and scorecards covering orders, forecast, pipeline health and pricing.
  • Improve forecasting using BI tools and cross-functional input.
  • Lead segmentation, account prioritization, and analytics for resource planning.
  • Champion CRM strategy, adoption, training, and data hygiene within ICVS.
  • Implement CRM config changes, dashboards, and reporting views.
  • Establish win/loss reporting and competitive intelligence processes.
  • Manage NPI opportunity tracking from concept to revenue realization.
  • Support pricing strategy, margin analytics, and quote-to-order improvements.
  • Drive automation for lead routing and customer-facing tools.
  • Advance AI and digital transformation to boost productivity.
  • Collaborate with BU leadership across functions to support priorities.

Job Summary:

The Commercial Excellence Manager will support AMETEK’s Instrumentation, Controls & Vision Systems (ICVS) business unit, including National Controls Corporation (NCC), Vehicular Instrumentation Systems (VIS), and Motec Heavy-Duty Camera Solutions, to help maintain and execute the strategic plan and budget deliverables needed to achieve sales and profit objectives. This role is responsible for streamlining front‑end sales processes, selecting and implementing automation tools, improving forecast accuracy, and maintaining CRM, reporting, and data analytics tools across the business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple concurrent projects aimed at enhancing, upgrading, or improving the ICVS sales process to drive greater efficiency, stronger sales execution, and a better customer experience.
  • Maintain the architecture and performance of business intelligence solutions, including Power BI dashboards and reports, while upholding robust data governance and change management practices.
  • Develop and maintain executive‑level dashboards and scorecards covering orders, sales, backlog, forecast accuracy, pipeline health, quote activity, price realization, margin performance, and key growth initiatives.
  • Establish, improve, and manage sales, order, and demand forecasting processes using business intelligence tools, CRM data, and cross‑functional input from sales, customer service, finance, product management, and operations.
  • Lead customer segmentation, account prioritization, and commercial analytics efforts to support resource allocation, growth planning, and strategic account management.
  • Serve as the primary champion for CRM strategy and adoption within ICVS, including design, implementation, training, data hygiene, reporting, and ongoing maintenance to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Implement and support CRM configuration changes, including workflows, approval processes, field modifications, dashboards, reporting views, and user adoption improvements.
  • Establish win/loss reporting and competitive intelligence processes to improve pursuit effectiveness.
  • Manage NPI opportunity tracking from concept through SOP and revenue realization.
  • Support pricing strategy, margin analytics, and quote‑to‑order process optimization.
  • Manage the development of additional automation, including lead routing, customer‑facing tools, and quote‑to‑order process improvements that create a more efficient and enjoyable customer experience.
  • Drive AI, automation, and digital transformation initiatives that improve sales productivity, reporting efficiency, and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Build strong internal relationships across business unit leadership, sales, purchasing, finance, customer service, product management, engineering, operations, and marketing to support commercial priorities and business goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; in lieu of degree, will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of analyst, sales operations, sales, marketing, finance, or related commercial experience.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, metrics‑driven environment while handling multiple priorities and making timely decisions aligned with business strategy.
  • Fluent in CRM systems such as Salesforce, Power BI, and sales reporting tools, preferably with previous administrative or super‑user responsibilities.
  • Fluent in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint programs.
  • Experience using AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to improve process efficiency, reporting automation, data analysis, and sales productivity.
  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences, including sales, operations, finance, and business unit leadership.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal, project management, communication, motivation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated drive for creating scalable processes and efficiencies.
  • Familiarity with common industry practices and the ability to identify areas for continuous improvement within sales, reporting, forecasting, and order management processes.
  • Experience supporting instrumentation, industrial controls, heavy‑du‑ty vehicle, commercial vehicle, mobile machinery, construction, food equipment, or similar B2B industrial markets.
  • Proficiency with Oracle ERP software.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification or equivalent CRM administration experience.
  • Experience supporting long‑cycle sales processes, OEM customers, custom‑engineered solutions, forecasting, quoting, and cross‑functional commercial execution.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision‑making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI‑generated outputs.
  • It’s preferred, but not required, for the candidate to live in or near Aurora, IL.
