Job summary

STEM Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator in the United States. The role supports estimating and preconstruction efforts with a focus on concrete, sitework, and other self-perform trades.

You will work with project teams, clients, and design partners to develop accurate pricing. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of estimating experience, reads plans and specs well, and excels in pricing, subcontractor quotes, and bid preparation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience with concrete, sitework, masonry, steel, or other self-perform trades is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs, pricing, and subcontractor/vendor quotes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Design-build or preconstruction experience preferred.
• Technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and project bids.
• Review plans, specifications, and project scope to develop accurate pricing.
• Support conceptual estimating, preconstruction, and constructability reviews.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Work with the Real Estate Development division and other internal teams.
• Participate in client meetings and collaborate with architects, engineers, and design partners.
• Help guide clients by providing construction input and recommendations.
• Track project costs, pricing trends, bids, and contracts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations to ensure accurate estimates and successful project delivery.
