Job summary

Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co. is seeking a Commercial Engine Technical Communicator & Advisor to support service technicians and customers across gas and diesel engines, including CAT Connect systems. You will liaise with manufacturers, deliver specialized training, and guide on repairs, retrofits, and installations.

Travel up to 50% to customer sites and branches, with a focus on accurate problem definition, solution planning, and cross-functional collaboration to minimize downtime and costs.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive Commercial Engine knowledge across gas/diesel, transmissions, and related systems.
• Excellent communication with all organization levels and external contacts.
• Proficient in diagnosing with CAT Connect tools and MS Office suite.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities.
• Travel up to 50% to customer sites and branch locations.

Responsibilities

• Define technical failures with details: hours, conditions, fixes and recurrences.
• Provide technical support for CAT Connect equipment selection, installation and programming.
• Assist in engine communication equipment design, implementation and troubleshooting.
• Deliver technical training to CB technicians and support staff.
• Advise on warranty issues and repair guidance.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and DSN systems for problem resolution.
• Provide expertise on gas and diesel engines, retrofits, and upgrades.
• Prepare failure analysis reports and communicate findings.
• Identify installation problems and investigate incidents as needed.
• Support sales and parts with technical recommendations for customer jobs.
