Job summary

Coastal Electric of Florida seeks a Commercial Electrician to drive commercial and industrial power projects in the Jacksonville area. You will install conduits, wiring, equipment and control systems while reading blueprints and diagrams, in strict compliance with the NEC and safety standards.

The role offers $28–$32 per hour with an annual bonus, full-time hours, and benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

How You Will Make An Impact

• Install conduit, wiring, electrical equipment, fixtures, and control systems efficiently.
• Read and accurately interpret complex blueprints, one-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Execute all electrical installations in strict compliance with the National Electrical Code and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex commercial electrical systems and equipment.
• Plan daily work flows, estimate material needs, and complete tasks within designated timelines.
• Direct and mentor junior apprentices on-site to foster crew development and high workmanship standards.
• Coordinate seamlessly with jobsite foremen, superintendents, and secondary trades to keep projects on schedule.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Commercial Electrician
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsites across the greater Jacksonville area.
• Strong physical capability to handle materials, climb ladders, and execute demanding field installation tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to bend and install EMT and rigid conduit independently.
• Core proficiency in reading blueprints, one-line diagrams, and technical electrical specifications.
• Practical experience working with branch circuits, feeders, lighting controls, and distribution panels.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• 5 or more years of hands‑on experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
• Journeyman certification or competency card where applicable.
• Deep understanding of commercial electrical control systems and NEC regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
