Job summary

gpac partners with a leading commercial construction firm to hire a Commercial Drywall Project Manager in Charlotte, NC. You will lead drywall projects from planning through execution, managing budgets, schedules, and field teams to ensure top-quality finishes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of drywall project management experience in commercial settings, strong leadership, and proven collaboration with clients and subs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in drywall project management, ideally within the commercial construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial drywall projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of drywall installation and finishing techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for commercial drywall projects.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs and specifications align with project requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of drywall installers, finishers, and subcontractors.
  • Supervise daily operations to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to quality standards.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor expenses to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Prepare cost estimates and track costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and optimize project costs.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure work progresses per specifications and quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders for future opportunities.
  • Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve conflicts between team members, clients, or subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and financial records.
  • Submit regular project reports to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.

They are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Commercial Drywall Project Manager to join their team.

Position Overview

The Commercial Drywall Project Manager will oversee and manage the execution of drywall projects within the commercial construction sector. This includes managing timelines, budgets, resources, and ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive drywall experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Coordination:
    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for commercial drywall projects.
