Job summary

Precision Walls, Inc. in Asheville, NC is seeking experienced Commercial Drywall Finishers to join our team of skilled tradespeople. You will perform all steps of drywall finishing, measure and mark surfaces, inspect for imperfections, and install corner beads with accuracy. You will coordinate with the GC and oversee junior installers.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and high‑quality workmanship. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus and construction experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years of experience in production finishing.
• Safe with stilts, baker scaffolding, and ladders.
• Positive attitude and commitment to trade knowledge and quality.
• Compliant with safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrates solid verbal and written communication skills; listens to instruction.
• Dependable transportation.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Utilize tools such as: Bazookas, Banjos, Flat and angle boxes, corner rollers, and power sanders.
• Experience with all types and ranges of commercial drywall finishing.
• Measure and mark surface to finish and level of finish work according to blueprints and drawings.
• Inspect drywall surfaces for imperfections and mark surface before starting.
• Understand joint compounds for appropriate situations.
• Install corner beads and trim beads straight and tight using lines or laser.
• Work independently on jobsites; oversee less experienced installers.
• Coordinate with GC and other subcontractors regarding project expectations.
• Patch/repair existing drywall to like-new appearance.

Job description

As one of the nation's premier wall and ceiling specialty contractors, Precision Walls, Inc. (PWI) offers you an opportunity to join our team. Make a difference and promote the progress of construction! We are seeking experienced Commercial Drywall Finishers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform all steps of drywall finishing as a team.
• Understand the 5 levels of finishing and demonstrate each.
• Utilize tools such as: Bazookas, Banjos, Flat and angle boxes, corner rollers, and power sanders.
• Experience with all types and ranges of commercial drywall finishing.
• Measure and mark surface to finish and level of finish work according to blueprints and drawings.
• Inspect drywall surfaces for imperfections (screw heads, misaligned joints, bad hanging etc.) then mark drywall surface with pencil prior to starting.
• Understand the right joint compound (quick-set, lightweight, or standard) to be used at appropriate situations.
• Eliminate visible joints, know how to eliminate air bubbles, tapes are not blistered, switch and receptacle boxes are finished tight.
• Install cornerbead, trim beads, reveal beads straight, plumb and on tight utilizing string lines, laser, square, or straight edge.
• Ability to work independently on job sites.
• Oversee less experienced installers/laborers.
• Coordinate with GC and other subcontractors regarding project expectations.
• Skill required to patch/repair existing drywall into like-new appearance.

Requirements / Experience

• Must have 3 years of experience and skill with Production Finishing and consider themselves a specialist in the field.
• Must be safe with stilts, baker scaffolding, and ladders.
