Job summary

Precision Walls, Inc. seeks an experienced Commercial Drywall Finisher to join our team. The role involves completing drywall finishing tasks, reading blueprints, and coordinating with general contractors on commercial projects.

You will supervise junior installers, patch and repair surfaces, and ensure quality workmanship on site. A minimum of 3 years in finishing is required, with safety training and willingness to work within a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years of experience and be a specialist in Production Finishing.
• Must be safe with stilts, baker scaffolding, and ladders.
• Positive attitude and commitment to trade knowledge and quality.
• Compliant with safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Solid verbal and written communication; listens to instruction.
• Dependable transportation.
• Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Perform all drywall finishing steps as part of a team.
• Understand the 5 levels of finishing and demonstrate each.
• Use tools such as Bazookas, Banjos, boxes, corner rollers, and power sanders.
• Finish all types of commercial drywall work per blueprints and drawings.
• Inspect surfaces for imperfections and mark areas before starting.
• Patch/repair drywall to like-new appearance.
• Install corner beads and straighten beads with lines or laser.
• Work independently on sites and oversee junior installers.
• Coordinate with GC and other subs to align project expectations.
• Keep finishes tight around switches and receptacles.

Job description

As one of the nation's premier wall and ceiling specialty contractors, Precision Walls, Inc. (PWI) offers you an opportunity to join our team. Make a difference and promote the progress of construction! We are seeking experienced Commercial Drywall Finishers!

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform all steps of drywall finishing as a team.
• Understands the 5 levels of finishing and demonstrate each.
• Utilizes tools such as: Bazookas, Banjos, Flat and angle boxes, corner rollers, and power sanders.
• Experience with all types and ranges of commercial drywall finishing.
• Measures and marks surface to finish and level of finish work according to blueprints and drawings.
• Inspects drywall surfaces for imperfections (screw heads, misaligned joints, bad hanging etc.). then mark drywall surface with pencil prior to starting.
• Understands the right joint compound (quick-set, lightweight, or standard) to be used at appropriate situations.
• Eliminates visible joints, knows how to eliminate air bubbles, tapes are not blistered, switch and receptacle boxes are finished tight.
• Install cornerbead, trim beads, reveal beads straight, plumb and on tight utilizing string lines, laser, square, or straight edge.
• Ability to work independently on job sites.
• Oversee less experienced installers/laborers.
• Coordination with GC and other subcontractors regarding project expectations.
• Skill required to patch/repair existing drywall into like-new appearance.

• Demonstrates solid verbal and written communication skills; listens to instruction.
