Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Commercial Counsel to support Bridge and Stripe’s stablecoin initiatives. You will lead negotiations for strategic user and partner agreements and advise on regulatory issues across fintech and crypto products.

You will collaborate with Product Legal and engineering teams to bring new products to market, while building scalable legal infrastructure and processes for a global legal team. Remote work available across international markets.

Qualifications

• JD degree or foreign equivalent and bar admission in at least one US state.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in-house or in a technology practice group at a top law firm.
• Experience with fintech, payments, crypto, or stablecoin industries and related regulatory issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex issues clearly.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive to solutions that work company‑wide.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations for complex and strategic user and partner agreements.
• Advise on commercial and legal issues arising from stablecoin products, launches, and international expansion.
• Collaborate with Product Legal and Bridge engineering teams to bring new products to market.
• Help build Bridge’s commercial legal infrastructure, playbooks, and scalable processes; leverage AI tools where appropriate.
• Provide practical, scalable legal support across a global Commercial Legal team.

What you’ll do Stripe is looking for an exceptional transactional lawyer to join our commercial legal team supporting Bridge and Stripe’s fast-growing stablecoin business. Responsibilities • Support Bridge’s commercial team, leading negotiations for complex and strategic user and partner agreements. • Advise on commercial and legal issues arising from stablecoin products, new product launches, and international expansion. • Work closely with Product Legal and Bridge’s product and engineering teams to bring new products and features to market. • Help build Bridge’s commercial legal infrastructure so the business can scale efficiently, including drafting and maintaining agreements and playbooks, improving internal processes, and using AI tooling to optimize how we work with clients, partners, and users. • Partner with teams across Bridge and Stripe globally, including commercial, operations, product, engineering, tax, compliance, and risk. • Help the team provide practical, scalable legal support while working collaboratively across a global Commercial Legal team. • Develop and deliver training and resources to help Bridge’s commercial team sell and support its products. • Be a point of escalation for outside counsel. Preferred qualifications • Experience working in payments, fintech, crypto, or stablecoin businesses and knowledge of associated regulatory issues. • In-house experience advising high-growth companies. • Working knowledge of LLM tools. • Experience in improving legal processes with AI technology. • A working knowledge of data protection laws such as CCPA, GDPR, and HIPAA.
