Job summary

eBay is seeking an experienced in-house attorney to review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including software licenses, SaaS, MSAs, and data privacy agreements. You will assess regulatory risks, provide practical business guidance, and partner with security, privacy, procurement, finance, and leadership.

You will leverage AI tools responsibly to improve service delivery, stay current on data protection and regulatory trends, and help drive eBay's global e-commerce strategy.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school and in good standing with a US state bar.
• 6+ years negotiating and drafting sophisticated commercial transactions including software licenses/SaaS, main service agreements, and data privacy agreements.
• Experience drafting and negotiating in-house commercial transactions.
• Ability to translate legal complexity into clear business guidance.
• Proficient with AI tools with a critical eye.
• Some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including software licenses/SaaS, marketing, main service agreements, Statements of Work, professional services, and data privacy agreements.
• Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks related to data and privacy protection, security, and AI.
• Assess legal risks and provide practical guidance on risk management, policy compliance, and contractual obligations.
• Build collaborative relationships with security, privacy, procurement, finance, senior leadership, and other strategic business partners.
• Undertake special projects and support new business initiatives.
• Use AI tools to improve legal service delivery, efficiency, quality, and business support while validating AI-generated work with sound legal judgment.
• Stay current on laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership on deals shaping eBay's global e-commerce strategy.
